Continuous operation

Duty holders strive to extend periods of operation between overhauls, consequently process trips or downtime attributable to maintenance should be avoided.

Charter Tech’s preferred process control systems employ the latest technological advances to mitigate and prevent downtime, features include.

HART enabled input and output modules for smart instruments     and valve positioners.
  Maintenance and process override functionality.
Facilitating the partial stroke testing of valves.
  Sequence of Events (SOE) recording.
  Asset and management related reporting.
Integrated CCTV to view site conditions in real time
Integrated access to equipment documentation, manuals,     drawings and fault diagnosis procedures through the HMI.
Integrated telecoms to enunciate alarms and alerts to personal mobile devices.

Distributed processes, centralized control
Modern production requires an asset to operate with minimal human intervention and with the highest levels of safety protection. These challenges have driven the development of modern process control systems, Charter Tech’s solutions can accommodate,

Charter Tech also has experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley & GE process automation controllers.

Integrated HMI or bespoke SCADA

Our control solutions generally incorporate an operator interface, ranging from a standalone PC based SCADA workstation through to a cross-site integrated server/client based architecture.
Associations with Honeywell and ABB enable us to provide feature rich DCS type operator interfaces. For standalone, or smaller applications, we can generate, from the ground up, a SCADA system using packages from Citect or Wonderware.

Local operator control

In the field for we can provide touch screen or pushbutton/indicator array type operator interfaces. Suitable for installation in hazardous areas and/or extreme environments.

Alarm management & handling

We appreciate the importance of human factors in a control system, our information systems provide concise and unambiguous alarm information to site personnel so they can facilitate appropriate action. The handling and presentation of data is carefully managed and engineered to ensure compliance with EEMUA 191 (Alarm systems, a guide to design, management and procurement).
