First independently integrated 800xA HI      system – Oct 2011 Charter Tech has started commissioning the UK’s first independently integrated ABB 800xA HI based safety system. When fully operational the system will provide essential process heating for an onshore gas terminal in Norway, and is an essential part of the site's expansion plans.

Tank farm upgrade – Oct 2011
Following a successful FEED study in 2010, Charter Tech is pleased to announce the award of the next phase of a project to replace an obsolete tank farm automation scheme employed at an oil refinery and petrochemical complex located in the south coast of England. End.

   
BBC Newsnight feature – 23rd Nov 2011
Imperial College London recently hosted a BBC broadcast for the Newsnight programme concerning the future of energy within Great Britain at its Carbon Dioxide Recovery plant. Part of the feature included the state-of-the-art, 800xA Extended Operator Work Place. This was developed and configured by Charter Tech to depict the CO2 absorption process and is part of an integrated process control and safety system. The system showcases ABB's broad range of products and the benefits that a fully integrated control and instrument system can provide to a duty holder operating in the process and hazardous industries. ABB UK’s first appointed Safety System      integrator January 2010 
Charter Tech is the first system integrator in the UK to be authorised by ABB (UK) to integrate its 800xA HI SIL3 capable logic-solver.The existence of an established EN61511 compliant Functional Safety Management System (FSMS) and the employment of control engineers certified by T ÜV SUD as Functional safety Professionals (FSPs) proved essential to attaining approval.
